ABOUT

London Sound Recordist Paul Zanders

Towards the end of last year I was the sound recordist on a documentary called, ‘A Year to Change the World’, which aired in April on BBC One. It’s a documentary about Greta Thunberg and climate change. We recorded interviews with many experts on climate change and their disclosures were both shocking and hopeful. It has really reinforced the way I work; all equipment runs off rechargeable batteries, I drive an electric van and I have a vegetarian diet.

I’m a really experienced London based sound recordist who has worked on location in the industry for 20+ years. I now record Promos, Drama and Comedy as Sound Mixer with my own audio equipment and sound crew. I’m at home on any location and have had the privilege of mixing on some award winning projects.

In 2015 I invented a new product for Sound Recordists. It launched at the BVE2015 and won the Best New Product Award. It now sells to sound recordists internationally and is known as the Dedleg.    www.dedleg.uk.com

In 2020, during the lockdown, I took the opportunity to add to my skills by completing City and Guilds Courses in Electrical Installation and have certification in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, I can therefore advise on electrical safety on location.

I'm always looking to get the best sound out of every project.
